Mick E. Moose

Picture
Winnipeg Jets mascot Mick E. Moose enjoys being a part of this event each year, so he expressed how disappointed he is to not be able to take part in the Misericordia Foundation’s host of angels this year.

“I look forward to participating in the Angel Squad every year,” Mick E. said wistfully. “Getting out in the community to support many of the amazing organizations we have in our province is one of my favourite things to do when I am not busy cheering on the Winnipeg Jets or Manitoba Moose.”

COVID-19 restrictions mean angels won’t be able to line the Maryland bridge in front of Misericordia Health centre as tradition dictates.

Pictures of Mick E. participating in the Angel Squad date back to his tenure with the Manitoba Moose of the International and American Hockey Leagues.

Asked about his favourite Angel Squad memory, Mick E. had a hard time choosing just one.

“I’ve been joining the Misericordia Angel Squad for so many years that it really is tough to pick a favourite memory,” he noted. “The camaraderie among the angel volunteers is fun to be a part of, and it’s always amazing to see the support that people give, whether from the honks of the cars, the high-fives from pedestrians, or of course the donations. The event always makes me proud to be a Manitoban.”

Though Mick E. is sad not to be able to participate in Angel Squad this year, he remains full of gratitude for the endless work of health-care staff during this difficult time.

“On behalf of myself, True North Sports + Entertainment, the Winnipeg Jets and Manitoba Moose - thank you. We appreciate front-line workers and all that they do.”
